The First Security Bank Big Sky Wind Drinkers Stampede (formerly the Bozeman Classic, formerly the Sweet Pea Run) is run the first full weekend of August. One of Bozeman’s biggest running events since 1978, the Stampede’s 5k and 10k races draw nearly 1,000 runners and walkers. Both courses are certified and offer cash prizes, as well as prizes for best costumes! The 10k is the Road Runners Club of America state championship race for Montana. Strollers are welcome, but requested to start near the back of the runners. No dogs, please.
