SUMMARY:Fun Run - South Cottonwood
DESCRIPTION:One of our most popular runs!  From the South Cottonwood Canyon trailhead\, head up initial switchbacks\, then parallel South Cottonwood Creek upstream to your desired turn-around:  at the first bridge for the short course\, second bridge for the medium\, or third bridge for the long! \nTo reach the trailhead\, take South 19th Avenue south\, then west until it dead-ends at Cottonwood Road.  Turn left and go south\, then west\, to Cottonwood Canyon Road on the left; turn left and follow for about a mile and a half to the trailhead parking at road closure. \nThis is a popular trailhead\, and the parking lot fills frequently.  Please consider meeting at the designated carpooling location and carpooling with others to the run!

DESCRIPTION:One of our most popular runs! Work up an appetite before heading downtown to the Bite of Bozeman food festival. Runs begin at Bogert Park on South Church\, and head south along the Gallagator Trail.  The Medium and Long courses turn east on Kagy and follow separate routes that include climbs up onto Sourdough Ridge.

SUMMARY:Fun Run - Lower Mount Ellis
DESCRIPTION:The Lower Mt. Ellis trail begins by crossing a large open field with a steady incline (bikers\, take note: it’s a bit of a grunt). At the top of the field is treeline\, where an old logging road takes you up and around to the east side of the mountain. After a couple miles and a few switchbacks\, the logging road takes a hard left\, and a single-track trail continues up the flank of the mountain—straight up\, mind you. After gaining a knoll\, the final ascent gets even steeper\, eventually topping out on a limestone outcropping with sweeping views of Triple Tree below\, the Gallatin Valley beyond\, and mountain ranges in all directions. If you’re not too pooped\, continue south along the ridge to Mt. Ellis.

SUMMARY:Fun Run - Middle Cottonwood
DESCRIPTION:A long-time club favorite!  Runs follow trails in the trees along Middle Cottonwood Creek\, on the west side of the Bridger Mountains!  Come enjoy running the hills with us! \nMiddle Cottonwood trailhead is north of Bozeman – take Springhill Road north of the Interstate\, and turn right onto Toohey Road.  At the end of Toohey\, turn right onto Walker Road\, which will bend back left (east) and become Saddle Mountain Road.  Continue on Saddle Mountain (do NOT turn onto Middle Cottonwood Lane – it does not lead to the trailhead!) until it makes a 90-degree bend to the left (north); go north across the creek\, then turn right onto the continuation of Saddle Mountain Road\, which leads to the trailhead parking. \nPlease consider carpooling to this event\, as the trailhead parking lot is limited.  Carpooling will be from the NE corner of the Fairgrounds parking lot\, west of the baseball stadium and across Oak from The Cannery District.  We will plan to leave from the carpool location at 5:30\, as it’s a ways out to the start point.

SUMMARY:Fun Run - Tour de Critters
DESCRIPTION:The Tour de Critters is one of the most popular Wind Drinker funs runs\, year after year!  Run on land owned by Franklin Coles\, a former BSWD President\, the courses are tough\, hilly trail runs high above the valley floor\, with extensive views near Bozeman Pass.  This event was once known as the ‘Tour de Wolves’\, as the Howlers Inn bed and breakfast\, just down the hill from Franklin’s place\, has a few rescue wolves in an enclosure.  When the wolves left temporarily\, the ‘Wolves’ part of the run name was changed to ‘Critters’ – but now some wolves are back.  Watch\, and listen\, for them!\n\nTo reach the start\, get on I-90 East and drive to the Jackson Creek Road exit.  Take Jackson Creek Road north (passing under the Interstate)   Drive about 3 miles\, and turn right onto Bridger Hollow Road (look for the Howlers Inn sign).  Drive past the Inn\, up the hill\, and turn left at Absaroka Drive.  Run assistants will help direct you to parking.

SUMMARY:Fun Run - Bozeman Creek (Sourdough Canyon TH)
DESCRIPTION:Come for one of our most unique and popular runs!  This is a “no watch” run – no watches or other timing devices allowed!  You will run up the ever-popular Sourdough (Bozeman) Creek trail\, and turn around whenever you think you need to\, in order to get back to the start at your selected time – there will be options to choose the 15-minute\, 30-minute\, or 45-minute option.  Whoever comes closest to their selected time\, wins (there will be one winner for each of the 15\, 30\, and 45 minute “races”)! \nThis is also a designated Dog Run\, so feel free to bring your 4-legged-friend along!  Please be sure\, however\, to keep your pet on a leash\, and clean up after your dog.  Those running with a pet are asked to wait 2 minutes after the start before hitting the trail\, so that excited pups don’t interfere with the biggest group of runners! \nTo reach the trailhead\, head south on South 19th Avenue.  At Nash\, turn L\, and drive to the Sourdough Canyon Road (follow brown sign to the trailhead).   Carpoolers can get a ride from Stockman Bank on S. 19th.

DESCRIPTION:Run along the Sourdough Trail in South Bozeman\, as well as many connector trails around the Graf Street neighborhoods\, including Tuckerman Park and Grafs Park. \nFrom downtown\, take Willson past Kagy\, as it becomes South 3rd Avenue.  Just before the 3-way stop\, turn left onto Graf Street.  Turn left off Graf onto E. Fieldview Circle (this will be the northern intersection of Graf and Fieldview Circle). \nFollowing the run\, there will be a cookout hosted at Kurt Buchl’s house (15 E. Fieldview).  We will provide burgers and brats\, and some drinks.  If you can\, bring along a side or dessert to share\, and BYOB.
