SUMMARY:Winter Fun Run: Jim Banks Turkey Trot
DESCRIPTION:Approximately 1\, 3\, and 5 mile routes. 9:00 AM start at the Foothills Fellowship church parking lot (off Springhill Road north of Sypes Canyon turn-off\, on Sentinel Drive). \nThis is a no-watch\, predict-your-time run\, with the runner who comes closest to their predicted time\, in each race distance\, winning a turkey!  Be sure to leave your watch or other timing device in the car\, or in your pocket\, when you run!  We will also be giving out a few more turkeys\, via random draw\, after the run! \nRun Options: \n\nShort – approximately half mile up Sentinel Drive; turn around and return.  https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4741692883\nMedium – 2.7 miles up Sentinel (150′ climb)\, then loop around Little Wolf back to Sentinel and return to start.  https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4741696414\nLong – 4.4 miles.  Follow Sentinel and Little Wolf (Medium course)\, then take a jaunt up Evening Star Lane; loop around on Summer Ridge back to Evening Star\, then return to start.  https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/4741700914\n\nPlease bring your own water bottle along! \n

DESCRIPTION:The holidays are here\, and what better way to celebrate than with friends? \nWe’ll be joining the Bozeman Run Club and our friends at the Gallatin Valley Land Trust for a joint Jingle\nBell Jog event this Saturday along the Gallagator Trail and Peet’s Hill\, with options to extend your run into the\nPainted Hills trail system and Triple Tree\, for those looking to put in some longer distances! \nMeet us at the GVLT office (212 S. Wallace – easiest to park in the Library parking lot and access the GVLT grounds from the east side) at 10 a.m. sharp (note the new\, later start time!!) \nBring your jingliest and jolliest holiday bells\, cow bells\, bear bells\, hand bells\, bicycle bells … really\nanything that makes noise to help ring in a great year of running\, while also showing your appreciation\nand support for GVLT and our amazing local land and trail partners. \nIf you don’t know much about GLVT\, be sure to check out the great work they’re doing to maintain our\nphenomenal trail systems and conserve our pristine landscapes here. \nAfterward\, join us for a cookie exchange! Bring along a plate of cookies to share and swap with others.\nBozeman Run Club and GVLT will also provide drinks and treats – it’ll be quite the party!\nTrail options are as follows: \n\n\n\n1 Mile Route\n3 Mile Route\n5 Mile Route\n10 Mile Route\n17 Mile Route\n\n(Only the 1\, 3\, and 5 Mile Routes will be marked and timed!) \nThis IS a dog-friendly event\, but if you bring your dog for the run\, be aware that dogs must stay outside for this event\, and will not be allowed in the building. \nSee you out there!

SUMMARY:Winter Fun Run: Froze Nose Run
DESCRIPTION:Run the Froze Nose – get a handicapped start time for the March run\, and see if you can improve enough to win! \nOur February “Froze Nose” and March “Handicap” run are paired events.  They are run on the same course\, one month apart.  The idea is to challenge yourself to improve your time between these two dates.  Based on your run time in the Froze Nose\, you will receive a time ‘handicap’ that will determine your start time for the March run – for example\, if Runner 1 finishes 2 minutes ahead of Runner 2 at the Froze Nose\, Runner 1 will start 2 minutes after Runner 2 at the Handicap Run; if both run the same time in March that they did in February\, they would finish the March run at the same time.  Thus\, those who “win” in March will be the runners who improved their times the most\, not necessarily the fastest runners in the field! \nRuns will start and end in front of the Town & Country building on South 11th.  Sign-ups for the run will be in front of Bridger Brewing (in the lobby\, if the weather is bad). \nWe will offer 1-\, 3-\, and 5-mile courses.  See the course maps below. \nShort :  \nMedium :  \nLong :  \n
