This Week Fun Run
Hi all,
Time kind of got away from me this week! Our good friend Bob Wade had a full hip replacement yesterday so I’ve been spending some time with him. Tomorrow night’s (Wednesday) fun run will be a trail run at Middle Cottonwood Trail. It’s actually one of my favorite trail runs. We will meet at the Middle Cottonwood trailhead 6:30 pm and will have the usual 1, 3, and 5 mile courses on trails.
To get to the trailhead:
From downtown, take Main west to 7th. Take 7th north out of town, following as it turns into I-90 Frontage. Turn right on Springhill Rd, take Springhill 1.5 miles north then turn right on Sypes Canyon Road across from Springhill Sod Farm sign. Take Springhill 1.5 miles then take a hard left on Summer Cutoff Road. Follow Summer Cutoff 1.1 miles until it intersects Saddle Mountain Road. Turn right on Saddle Mountain and go 1.5 mi on Saddle Mt Rd to end. Turn left on Forest Service road to Middle Cottonwood trailhead (watch for trailhead signs).
Thanks to all those that ran the Sweet Pea Run and those that came out to help with sign-ups or on the course! We had a very good turnout this year. This is the run that really supports us..
We’ve had many sign-ups for the John Colter Run this week, but we still have lots of room. This great run is September 17th at Headwaters State Park, with 7 trail miles, 2 river crossings, great free BBQ, music, and prizes! Sign up at RaceMontana.com.
And many thanks to all who have come out and helped this year with the Bridger Ridge Run. Those who carried water, the volunteers that will be working the aid stations this week end and all of the organizers. It promises to be a great run with some outstanding athletes. Please come out anywhere on the course or at the finish! For me this run is more of a journey, carrying water, early morning runs, and all the preparations. It’s such a great community event.
See you all on Wednesday! Daryl
