IT IS NOT IMPORTANT HOW FAST ONE RUNS, BUT THAT ONE RUNS

WHAT TO EXPECT

You might be wondering what you’re supposed to do once you get to a fun run. Here’s what you can expect to happen each week.

  1. Arrive approximately 15 minutes early.
  2. There will be a table set up with several clipboards on it. Each clipboard will have a run distance written at the top (generally 1, 3, or 5 miles). Choose which distance you would like to complete for the day and print/sign your name on the sheet (don’t worry, if you decide that you want to turn back early or run a longer course, you are welcome to do so!).
Why are you signing? This sheet is our participation/liability waiver and also allows us to keep track of how many people we have out on the courses.
  3. Hang out with the other runners. 5 minutes before the run starts, the director for the run will get everyone’s attention and explain the courses. He/she will also make any additional club announcements such as upcoming races.
  4. Go run or walk your course and have a great time! You can finish at your own pace, whatever that may be.
  5. When you cross the finish line, our timing volunteers will hand you an index card with a number on it. Go over to the sign-in table and write your name and distance on the card. Then put the card in the corresponding tupperware box.
  6. Go enjoy some treats and drinks while catching up with other runners! We provide snacks such as fruit, cookies, and/or chips as well as water and a sports drink at each fun run.
